
Developer Overkill is promising to include a year’s worth of paid DLC and free updates in the next gen version of Payday 2, due out this June.
Co-op bank heist game Payday 2 is coming to next gen consoles this summer, with Overkill promising ‘ improved frame rate, greater looking textures, 1080p resolution and more than a year worth of updates.
Although according to an interview with Videogamer.com the game ‘probably’ won’t be 60 frames per second on either console.
Payday 2 was released on PC and last gen consoles in August 2013 and was a particularly big hit on Steam, where it’s had more than 9 million players in the last two years.

The Crimewave Edition will will include all the updates and additions released in that time, including the The Big Bank Heist level, the recent pre-planning stage to the game, and female playable character Clover.
The only brand new content mentioned specifically is if you pre-order the game, which will unlock the ‘Hard Time Loot Bag’ that contains:
- Red dot weapon sight modification available for use on all rifle weapons
- Exclusive Skull mask
- PlayStation 4 or Xbox One exclusive mask
- Unique mask pattern titled “I LOVE OVERKILL”
- Unique color pattern, only available with this unlock
- Bundle of in-game cash
In fact Overkill are so desperate for you to pre-order that the game will be 25 per cent off on PSN and Xbox Live until launch.
