Developer Techland is celebrating its most successful game launch ever, and the (second) death of over 378 million zombies.
It may not be a critical darling but Dying Light is apparently Polish developer Techland’s most popular title ever, with the Dead Island creators revealing that Dying Light has been played by 3.2 million people.
That’s not quite the same as how many copies it’s sold, especially if they’re including pirated versions, but it’s still impressive and makes it one of the best-selling games of the year so far.
To celebrate the success Techland have released the infographic below, which reveals that 378.7 million zombies have been killed (destroyed? re-killed?) since the game launched.

All together players have rescued 5.3 million survivors, which apparently is enough to populate Ireland. A total of 163.4 million medikits have been used and $1.25 trillion in virtual cash has been collected – 16 times more than Bill Gates has in real life.
Players have spent the combined equivalent of seven years falling off buildings and have climbed 11.7 million km of walls and walked the equivalent of from the Earth to the Sun.
Although that doesn’t seem to have helped survivors vs. night hunters, with the super-powered night zombies winning 54 per cent of the time overall.
Techland are promising to continue to support the game with new maps, modes, skills, and quests; with last week’s first free content update adding new weapons, outfits, and a hard mode.
