Treyarch has started a new viral marketing campaign that once again points to Black Ops 3 being the new Call Of Duty for 2015.
The hype for this year’s Call Of Duty has officially begun, as developer Treyarch release a new video and update 2012’s Black Ops II.
The update adds SnapChat symbols to certain in-game adverts, which subscribe you to a Call Of Duty account. This in turn includes the short video below, which includes the voiceover ‘Listen only to the sound of my voice’.
The obscure series of clues were discovered by various fans, including website Charlie INTEL, and seem to point towards this year’s game being Black Ops 3. Especially as the phrase from the video recalls the hypnotism and brainswashing plot points of the first Black Ops.
The only thing we know for sure though is that Treyarch are making this year’s game, which Activision has promised will be ‘loaded with innovation’.
None of the clues are definitive proof that it will be Black Ops 3 though, and in fact earlier rumours did suggest it might be a return to the Second World War setting of Treyarch’s World At War games.
Whatever the truth is new Call Of Duty games are usually revealed in April, before a November release, so it probably won’t be long now till we find out for sure.
And if it does turn out to be Black Ops 3 that may mean the earlier rumours about a Resident Evil 7 reveal at E3 are also true…
