The first clue as to what Nintendo’s NX system might be describes a home console that has a GamePad-like display but no disc drive.
Despite what anyone tries to tell you nobody has any clue what Nintendo is planning to do, in terms of its follow-up to the Wii U and 3DS.
Apart from the codename NX, Nintendo hasn’t said anything official – although they have talked vaguely about creating a sort of Nintendo OS, to work across multiple devices.
But a new US patent seems to describe a relatively traditional home console, albeit one that doesn’t have any kind of optic drive at all.
