Call Of Duty: Black Ops II – Origins: beginning of the end?
Call Of Duty: Black Ops II – Origins: beginning of the end?

The creators of Black Ops II have released a mysterious new trailer for what may or may not be the final slice of downloadable content for the game.

To be fair it’s probably not that mysterious – we’d be very surprised if this was anything other than another map pack – but whatever Origins is it’s being promoted with a great deal more effort than the previous ones.

The black & white trailer below manages to mix a grittier look and feel with the inclusion of giant robots and what seem to be younger versions of Zombies regulars Nikolai, Dempsey, Takeo and Richtofen.

There are no actual zombies that you can see, but the first person footage certainly seems to imply something unpleasantly supernatural (or super science).

The logical assumption then is that Origins features a prequel to the whole Zombies storyline, although whether it’ll also include four new competitive multiplayer maps, as is standard with Call Of Duty map packs, it’s impossible to tell.

Black Ops II has so far had three downloads: Revolution, Uprising, and Vengeance. If Origins is the fourth and final one then on the normal scale of release it’ll be out in October on Xbox 360, and the other formats a month after that.

This early teaser trailer though may hint that it’ll be out before that, as the new Call Of Duty: Ghosts is due out only a month later, on November 5.
