Marc Laidlaw, the lead writer and level designer on the Half-Life series has left Valve, and seemingly retired from games.
The chances of ever seeing another Half-Life game seems to have taken another serious knock, as one of Valve’s most celebrated developers retires from the company.
Valve are always purposefully vague with their credits but Marc Laidlaw was the lead writer on the original Half-Life and worked on the script and level for design for all the subsequent games, as well as some of the programming.
